Missouri, etc.

Our laundry room
When we woke up on Sunday morning in Des Moines, we woke up sick.  J snuggled with Kira and watched some shows while we cleaned up.  Then Mark took them to the awesome playground while I got some work done.  By early afternoon we were all packed up and on our way to Missouri.

Our drive to Missouri was rainy, and when we arrived at Basswood RV Resort in Kansas City it was misty and beautiful.  They boys put on rain boots and left to splash in puddles as soon as we got our site.

Then we had some music time and got ready to go for a walk and check the place out.

The playground here was pretty cool, too.  But J hated it.  It was really wet from the rain and he was too afraid to play on any of it because it involved a lot of climbing and heights.

Eventually I talked him into trying it out and we all got soaked.

He really wanted to try the zip line, but ended up hating that, too.

The pose

This morning we woke up and had breakfast.  We are testing S's dairy allergy and he got to eat some yogurt.  He loved it!

Before this, I had never been in an RV before, much less camped in one.  I am still getting used to the parking lot style camping prevalent in RV parks. I get it, it is just really different than what I am used to with tent camping.  The Basswood had nice spots.  They were pull through and we didn't even have to detach the car.  But best of all, there were amazing showers!  While we have a shower in the Bounder, we tend to use the park showers more often because our water pressure sucks, we are on a budget and try to preserve the LP it takes to use the water heater, and it is really tiny in there.  Most places have normal campground showers.  This place had penthouse showers!  It was super luxurious!

The amazing showers.  They each had their own room with a private toilet, sink, and shower with glass doors.  Amazing.

Our last few minutes at the Basswood.  Look at how swollen and snotty he is.  Poor baby...

The internet at the Basswood was super slow, and I had work to do, so we left early and headed to Kansas.  We planned to do a lot of driving today--about 4 1/2 hours.  We stopped halfway through to get some gas, buy some Benadryl for J, and get ice cream.

When we finally got to the Oasis RV park on the Kansas/Oklahoma border, it didn't really live up to its name.  It really was just like a big open lot with some gravel to park on and hook ups to plug into.  At least the wireless is quick though.  But we aren't going to stick around.  Tomorrow we will be on our way again.  Oklahoma, here we come!
