Kathleen's sewing room, San Diego, CA with Jen and Dan

Kathleen and I picked up Jen and Dan from the airport and then we all hung out in the backyard for awhile.  It was so much fun to all be together again!

Judah and Dan had a lot of catching up to do.  He had to show him his cars and his John Deere work gloves and the compost pile and the banana tree and...

Then we went to lunch and chatted some more. Later that night, the girls all went to Kathleen's restaurant, Starlite, for dinner.  It was delicious!  And we got star treatment.  I was so full of amazing food I though I wouldn't be able to move.  But I could, and it was totally worth it.  While we were gone, the boys tried to keep warm by falling asleep on the couch.

The next day was a total girls day.  We woke up and gave Jen baby presents.  I got her some cloth diapers and Kathleen got her a cute little froggie bib and cup set.

Then we snuggled in bed and talked about Jen being pregnant and helped Judah find stuff in his stuff finding book.

Then we went maternity and cloth diaper shopping.  We picked out tons of clothes for Jen to try on.  It was so much fun, and she found some adorable outfits.  And it was a good thing, because she needed to look her best for her surprise tea party/baby shower.

We drank tea, ate, and chatted about babies and life.

After tea, we had one more stop for maternity clothes.  Kathleen got a baby bump on the way and texted pictures to everyone she knew while Jen tried on gray skinny jeans and a sparkly black tank top.  I wish I had a picture of her in that outfit, because she looked fantastic.

Then the preggos posed for a picture and we headed home.

In the mean time, the boys had tried one last failed attempt at fixing the heater.  Then they hit up best buy for a video camera for the Currents. Then they went to go pick up our RV!  But when they got there, it still looked like this...

After hours of waiting, it was decided that maybe they should come back tomorrow.  So, a little late, Mark dropped Dan off at Starlite to meet up with an old friend, and the rest of us met up back at Kathleen's for a fire and some Swiss chocolate.

While Jen and Dan were there, Kathleen slept on the couch so they could have the bed.  This meant that I had to work extra hard on keeping the kids quiet.  On Wednesday morning, I made Judah a bed in the pantry and had him watch shows on the computer while everyone slept.

When people got up, he spent some more time snuggling with Jen in bed.

Then, we noticed something strange.  Some socks were hanging from Kathleen's mantle.  It turns out that while we were sleeping, a chupacabra crept in and left some Mexican bakery and candy for the boys.  How exciting!

After the sugar high, Judah went outside to do some yard work...

and Saywer crashed with Holden in Kathleen's bed...

while Jen modeled her belly.

In the afternoon, reality hit.  Kathleen had to go back to work and Jen and Dan had to get ready to catch their flight.  We dropped Kat off at Starlight and Dan took the rest of us out to farewell brunch.  Once again, the boys had the kids.  They would make an adorable family...

At brunch, Judah played with the restaurant provided toys while Jen and Dan looked on dubiously.

After we ate, Mark took the boys while I dropped Jen and Dan off at the airport.  It was so sad.  The next time I see them they will have a baby!  I wish I could be there for all of it.  I miss you guys!

I dried my eyes, and went to meet Mark.  The kids were asleep in the car, so we decided to just head up to Oceanside to pick up the RV (again).  This time everything looked good and by 5:00, we were headed to the RV park!  Mark took it slow, and I followed behind in the car.  Everything seemed fine until, less than one mile away from the entrance to the RV park, the engine cut out and refused to start up again.  Thank god for AAA...

By this time, Mastertech was already closed, so we just had it towed one mile up the road where a bunch of other RVs were parked outside of the park.  It took forever to hook up the tow truck, though.  By this time I was exhausted, emotional, and stressed out.  I snuggled up in the car and tried to sleep while the monkeys crawled on top of me.

Finally, the RV was dropped off and we were on our way...back to Kathleen's.
